Health Benefits Of African Star Apple, Udara by Ndi Igbo or Agbalumo by the Yoroba, Alasa by the Ghanaians. 

(African Star Apple) popluarly known as Udara or Abalumo is one of the most antioxidant dense fruit, it contains more vitamin C than  orange and other citrus fruits.

Research has revealed that Udara contains only 67 calories which makes it an alternative for people who would like to loose weight. The African star apple is also known for its gummy skin and sweet-sour taste. So many people consume this fruit without knowing its health benefits. Botanically called chrysophyllum albidum is commonly known as ‘udara’ in my Dangme dialect and many others as well. It is also called (African Star Apple). It is delicious and low in calories.

African star apple, belongs to the sapotaceae family. Udara is a west african origin fruit that has a tender sweet tact inner flesh.
